Encounter-centered Couples Therapy represents the crystallisation of Hedy’s 35 years of experience as a psychotherapist, using 20 of these years to work intensively with couples in a clinical couples laboratory. EcCT is an integrative relational model at the intersection of philosophy, clinical theory, organizational methodology and relational neurobiology. It aims at assisting couples to experience the most alive and joyful connection with each other while helping each other grow and develop their relational intelligence on the path to relational maturity. It inspires couples to become not just a good couple or a solid couple but a creative couple.

Watch this short video from the introduction of the EcCT video program which will give you a sense of Encounter-centered Couples Therapy.

What Hedy says about the training is:

“My work over the last 30 years as a couples therapist, and over the last 20 years in my laboratory for the relational paradigm, has crystallized into a synergetic understanding of what I call the “three invisible connectors”: the Space, the Bridge and the Encounter. These three invisible connectors, when revealed and applied to a couple’s daily life, create a revolutionary paradigm shift.”

What other therapists are saying about this training:

“Hedy’s incorporation of neuroscience, mindfulness, somatic experience, only the essential, eternal time and the language of abundance (to name just a few) is brilliant, and a must for any therapist who wants to work with couples, or for any couple who wants the relationship of their dreams”. – Leslie Bartlett, LCPC, Imago Therapist from Brunswick, ME

The training was a transformative experience for me personally and professionally. The didactic presentation was clear, accessible and filled with warmth and humor. The live demonstrations opened my heart and mind to new dimensions of what is possible for couples and the potential for bringing more kindness and compassion into our world. – Nicolee McMahon, MFT from San Diego, CA

Presented by the Tikkun Learning Center, and instructed by Hedy Schleifer, MA, LMHC, this training is for Psychologists, Social Workers, Counselors and Therapists working with couples.
